This is a lesson I've learned a long time ago, but took me a very long time to understand fully. I apply it to everything in my life, from finances, to food, to daily activities, and most importantly, to emotions. Which is what today's lesson is about, the balance of ones emotions.
So lets start with the beginning, someone who is still growing up. It is important at a young age that balance is provided for them, people who think they are "the shit" are going to grow up to be arrogant, unable to understand what it means to work for something, assuming that wants and needs in life are provided. The opposite is true, a child or young adult who is constantly put down will hopefully learn a better sense of value, but with a risk of all morals being desecrated. It is in theory impossible to provide the greatest home for a child, without also ensuring they will not gain their own morals deeply established into their personality. Balancing how much to provide, and how much they should learn on their own, is a challenge I await eagerly.
As people grow and reach the point where they decide how their decisions affect them, they are in a great advantage in life. Some will never be at this point, others never use it or understand it. In the simplest sense, you can change yourself or how you live, while still maintaining the established morals. If a person were to get cosmetic surgery to improve the way they feel about themselves, would they still be modest, or would they use their new looks to try and manipulate others. The moment someone has a disposable income, do they dispose of it, or still value every dollar.
The best thing about balance is how versatile it is, one can always be perfectly balanced, and still different. The idea of someone who is perfectly balanced should always be more appealing than the idea of a perfect person. If I ever met a girl with a perfect body, I would probably want to punch her for having, I'm sure, the most obnoxious personality one could have. If I met a girl with a perfect life, I would probably want to drive my Mini into her Ferrari. If I met a girl who was perfectly balanced, I guess I would ask her out if I wasn't such a wimp.
